Pet Portrait Artist
Neil Dixon is both creatively and technically minded, having made a living combining the two disciplines where required to arrive at unique solutions.
He started creating pet portraits and animal artworks over 25
years ago, although his art goes back much further. He is an
experienced illustrator for media and publishing, as well as for print
and package design. His preferred mediums are graphite pencil, and pen &
ink, but continues a determined love/hate relationship with
watercolour.
Neil is passionate about sketching, always carrying one of his many sketchbooks around and scribbling the world around him often in preference to taking a photograph.
His favourite artists are Spanish - Picasso, Dali, and Miró - as are his preferred wines. Using watercolour, his dream is to one day capture the light and feel of Castell de Guadalest just right, no matter how many sheets of cold pressed paper it takes.
